GIDEON IWUEKE RE-ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF ENUGU SWAN

Gideon Iwueke has been re-elected for a second term as Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Enugu State chapter.
His re-election follows the completion of his first three-year tenure, which began in October 2022.
Iwueke, who stood unopposed alongside other executive members, will lead the association for another three years.
In his acceptance speech, Iwueke thanked members for their confidence in his leadership.
According to him, “By re-electing me as chairman of SWAN, Enugu State chapter, you have reaffirmed your trust in the promises I made when I first assumed office in 2022.
”I remain committed to carrying every member along because SWAN is a family. By God’s grace, in this final lap of our leadership, we will continue to raise the standard of SWAN in the state”.
”We know where we started, and I am glad we have grown beyond that level. I strongly believe that the next three years will take us even further. I ask for your continued support as we work together for the progress of our association.” he added.
The Vice President, South-East SWAN, Ikem Asika—who supervised the election on behalf of the national body—commended the peaceful conduct of the exercise.
He conveyed the goodwill of the National President, Mr. Isaiah Benjamin, saying, “The president wishes Enugu SWAN continued growth and strength. Though he is not physically present, he is with you in spirit and fully committed to supporting SWAN leadership across Nigeria,” he said
He also relayed the felicitations of the Secretary-General, Ikenna Okonkwo, who expressed confidence that the newly constituted executive would move the association forward.
Other re-elected executive members includes, Ikpechukwu Chinedu – (Vice Chairman), Chibuike Peter – (Secretary), Chibuzor Nwoye – (Treasurer), Godwin Unogwu – (Financial Secretary), while Amaechi Agbo was elected as the chapter Assistant Secretary.
