Day Three of the 2025 Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) Super Cup at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, lived up to expectations with pulsating encounters, dramatic turnarounds and tie-break finishes across both the men’s and women’s categories.
In the men’s event, CNS Spikers edged Nigeria Correctional Service in a gripping five-set battle. CNS took the opening two sets 25–18 and a marathon 36–34, before Correctional Service staged a strong comeback to level the contest with 25–22, 25–22 wins. However, CNS showed composure in the decisive fifth set, racing to a 15–8 victory to seal a crucial 3–2 win.
Defence Spikers also impressed in the men’s category, overcoming Life Camp 3–1. Defence claimed the first two sets 25–19 and 25–21, dropped the third 21–25, but regained control in the fourth set with a dominant 25–16 finish to secure maximum points.
In the women’s competition, Nigeria Customs Service once again underlined their title ambition with a hard-fought 3–2 victory over COAS Spikers. COAS struck first with a 25–21 win, but Customs responded emphatically, taking the next two sets 25–19 and 25–15. COAS forced a tie-break after edging the fourth set 25–23, yet Customs held their nerve in the decider, closing out the match 15–9.
The day’s final women’s fixture saw Vipers Spikers return to winning ways with a straight-sets triumph over Excelsior VC. Vipers dominated the opening set 25–12 and, despite closer contests in the next two sets, maintained control to win 25–23, 25–23 and seal a 3–0 victory.
