Campos FC, OISA FC, Heartland Queens Get Federation Cup Opponents
Imo State representatives have discovered their opponents for the Round of 64 of the 2026 President’s Federation Cup following the draw conducted at the Nigeria Football Federation Secretariat in Abuja on Friday.
Reigning Imo FA Cup champions Campos FC and runners-up OISA FC, face difficult tests in the national competition.
Campos FC will battle Kada Warriors in one of the standout fixtures of the men’s category, while OISA FC have been handed a tough clash against Nigeria Premier Football League side Bayelsa United. The knockout competition will be played without any bye for participating teams as the NFF maintained the traditional format of the country’s oldest football tournament.
In the women’s category which continues in the Round of 32, Heartland Queens will take on Dragon Fury Ladies, while Ikukuoma Queens have been drawn against Abia Angels in an Oriental derby expected to attract attention from football followers in the South East. Both Imo teams will be aiming to make a strong impression on the national stage.
Meanwhile, Rivers Angels will start their title defence against NAF Queens after lifting the trophy last year with a penalty shootout victory over Nasarawa Amazons in the final.
NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, stated during the draw ceremony that all teams would compete on a level-playing ground with strict adherence to the rules guiding the competition.
He also confirmed that the grand finale of this year’s President Federation Cup will be staged in Asaba, Delta State capital.
Defending men’s champions Kwara United will begin the defence of their title against Sporting Supreme U19, while last year’s runners-up Abakaliki FC were drawn against ABU DLC. The Harmony Boys and the Rice Boys were seeded at opposite ends during the draw ceremony.
