The excitement surrounding the 2025 Game On Afrika Tournament (G.O.A.T) has reached new heights as the competition enters its highly anticipated semi-final stage in Accra, Ghana. After an impressive round of matches held across Imo, Enugu, Abuja, and Lagos States, the selected Nigerian contingent is set to arrive in Ghana on Thursday ahead of their clashes with some of the finest young talents from the host nation.
This year’s edition has stood out for its display of football excellence, youth development, and cross-border collaboration—the very pillars upon which the Game On Afrika project was built.
Speaking ahead of the semi-finals, Prince Emeka Nwankwo, CEO of the Game On Afrika Tournament, highlighted the broader vision that continues to drive the initiative.
“The Game On Afrika Tournament is more than a football competition; it is a platform that connects cultures and builds bridges between nations,” he said. “I am proud that through this project, we are giving young people the opportunity to showcase their talent, pursue their dreams, and grow into global stars. Watching these youths excel gives me great joy and reaffirms the vision behind Game On Afrika.”
Project Manager, Jenny Anusiem, also praised the dedication that has sustained the tournament from the grassroots level to the knockout stage.
“Our coordinators, coaches, and players in both Nigeria and Ghana have shown incredible commitment throughout this journey,” she noted. “Their hard work is the reason we have reached this remarkable stage. We expect exciting matches here in Ghana, especially with the anticipated presence of HRM Eze Dr. Amb. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu at the grand finale. His attendance will add prestige to this celebration of unity and talent.”
The semi-final fixtures will be staged at the Madina Zongo Astroturf, where Accra G.O.A.T will battle Central G.O.A.T at 10:00 AM, followed by the clash between Ashanti G.O.A.T and Oti G.O.A.T at 12:00 PM.
As G.O.A.T 2025 advances, it continues to solidify its mission of empowering young Africans, fostering cultural exchange, and spotlighting sporting excellence across the continent.
