Emififen Pinnick Wins Multiple Gold Medals at World School Games Olympia 2026

Emififen Yolanda Pinnick, the 10-year-old daughter of Nigerian football administrator Amaju Melvin Pinnick, made a powerful statement at the inaugural World School Games Olympia 2026, claiming multiple medals and emerging as one of the standout young athletes of the competition.
Competing at the world-class Aspire Zone Stadium in Doha, Qatar, Emififen impressed across track and field as well as football, showcasing remarkable versatility and composure beyond her years. Her medal haul included gold in the Under-13 60 metres sprint, gold in the 4×200m relay, and another gold as part of the football team, alongside a silver medal in the shot put event.
Representing St. Saviour’s School, Ikoyi, Emififen played a key role in her school’s success, combining speed, strength and teamwork to excel across multiple disciplines. Her performances underlined not only her athletic talent but also her leadership qualities in both individual and team events.
Amaju Melvin Pinnick, former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and a current FIFA Council member, expressed pride in his daughter’s accomplishments, describing her achievements as a reward for discipline, dedication and passion for sport.
The three-day World School Games Olympia 2026 brought together young athletes from over 30 schools across seven countries, competing in athletics, football and swimming across under-11, under-13 and under-15 categories. Launched as a global platform for school sports, the event aims to nurture youth talent, promote cultural exchange and provide international exposure for the next generation of sporting stars.
