Savannah Spikers, Kano Pillars, Kada Emeralds, Anista Headline President Beach Volleyball Cup Finals
Finalists have emerged in four categories of the 2026 President Beach Volleyball Tournament following gripping semifinal encounters decided yesterday at the Murtala Mohammed Square Beach Courts in Kaduna.
In the senior women’s division, Anista VC battled past Katsina 2-1 in a tightly contested semifinal. Anista claimed the first set 23-21 before Katsina responded in the second set, edging it 22-20. However, Anista dominated the decisive third set 15-6 to book their place in the final.
Joining them in the final are Kada Emeralds, who produced a commanding display against Adamawa Spikers, winning in straight sets 2-0. They secured the first set 21-17 and sealed qualification emphatically with a 21-12 victory in the second set. The women’s final will now see Kada Emeralds take on Anista in what promises to be an explosive showdown.
In the men’s semifinals, Kano Pillars I defeated Akapson VC 2-1 to secure a place in the final. Kano Pillars dominated the opening set 21-6, but Akapson fought back to take the second set 21-16. Pillars, however, responded strongly in the third set, cruising to a 15-4 victory.
They will face Savannah Spikers, who also won their semifinal 2-1 against Dynamite VC. Savannah edged the first set 21-19, lost the second 21-18, but bounced back in the decider with a convincing 15-6 win to reach the final.
In the U17 Boys division, Philric VC overcame FCT 2-1. Philric won the first set 21-13 before FCT equalized with a 21-15 win in the second set. Philric regained control in the third set, sealing a 15-9 victory to advance.
They will meet Kada Prince, who also triumphed 2-1 against Jikwoyi Braves. After losing the first set 21-19, Kada Prince responded with a 21-15 win in the second set and dominated the final set 15-3 to book their final ticket.
In the U17 Girls semifinals, Diamond VC secured a straight-sets victory over Zamfara, winning 21-11 and 21-16 to advance comfortably to the final.
They will square up against Kogi Spikers, who edged Anista VC 2-1 in a thrilling contest. Kogi took the first set 25-23, lost the second 21-15, but narrowly clinched the decisive third set 16-14 to seal their place in the final.
With finalists now confirmed across the four categories — Men, Women, U17 Boys and U17 Girls — the stage is set for an exciting climax to the 2026 President Beach Volleyball Cup, with the grand finals scheduled for today,
