Remo Stars’ Abd’Allah Eyes Maximum Points Against Bayelsa United

Remo Stars Technical Adviser, Coach Usman Abd’Allah, has declared that his side is fully focused on securing victory in their crucial Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 37 clash against fellow relegation battlers, Bayelsa United, at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Sunday.
With just two matches left in the season, the Sky Blue Stars find themselves in a tense fight for survival. Remo Stars currently occupy 18th position on the NPFL table with 43 points, while Bayelsa United sit in 20th place with 40 points, making Sunday’s encounter one of the biggest survival fixtures of the campaign.
Speaking ahead of the decisive clash, Abd’Allah described the game as one that could shape the club’s fate in the top flight.
“The team is well prepared and fully motivated. The technical crew is eager to see the team succeed,” Abd’Allah said. “This is a defining match that will determine our fate in the league. We are not under pressure; we will approach it like every other game, with the sole aim of securing all three points.”
The former Kano Pillars coach, who took over the club in late February during the peak of their relegation struggles, has been credited with bringing stability to the squad and improving performances in recent weeks.
Abd’Allah also praised the support from the club’s management, insisting their unity and commitment have strengthened the team’s resolve to avoid relegation despite the difficult campaign.
“Despite being NPFL champions last season, we are more determined than ever to give our best and sustain our place in the league,” he added.
Away from the survival battle, the Remo Stars boss also shared his thoughts on the ongoing Nigeria National League Super 4 tournament taking place at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
He commended the NNL organisers for delivering what he described as a well-structured and improved competition capable of preparing promoted clubs for life in the NPFL.
Abd’Allah noted that the presence of Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle at the tournament’s opening game underlined the growing quality of talents in both the NPFL and NNL.
“Nigeria is blessed with a wealth of young talent, including several players in our academy who are waiting for opportunities. I commend the Super Eagles coach for scouting NPFL and NNL players for the national team,” he stated.
The coach further urged Nigerian tacticians to embrace modern coaching education and continuous development to remain competitive in the evolving football landscape.
“Football has evolved beyond traditional approaches. Coaches must be willing to upgrade their knowledge consistently,” he said.
On the importance of the Super 4 competition, Abd’Allah explained that the tournament provides newly promoted teams with a platform to test their squads and improve tactical identity before the start of the new NPFL season.
He concluded by stressing that the quality displayed at the tournament proves Nigeria possesses enormous football potential capable of thriving with proper support and opportunities.
