Odiagbe Credits Edo Queens Teammates For Strong Comeback

Edo Queens captain Deborah Odiagbe has praised her teammates for helping her recover from a difficult moment in their last game against Abia Angels in the ongoing NWFL Super 6 Playoff in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The skipper played her part as Edo Queens defeated Rivers Angels 2-1 through goals from Precious Oscar and Chioma Moses to remain top of the NWFL Premiership Super Six standings.

Odiagbe admitted Rivers Angels provided a stern challenge but said her team remained focused on securing victory.

“Rivers Angels are a strong team for them to qualify for the Super 6. We knew what we needed and we went to the field to achieve that. We thank God for the victory.”

She also revealed how the encouragement of her teammates helped her regain confidence after an uncharacteristic mistake against Abia Angels.

“My teammates helped me to recover quickly after the mistake I made against Abia Angels and had to be substituted. I wasn’t very happy with myself but my teammates told me to focus on the remaining games.”
